"My research focuses on strategies for adapting human populations to climate change. I have focused mainly on the question of their mobility, whether internal, neighbouring or international, in response to (or in anticipation of) extreme climatic events.
My master's thesis focused on the displacement of populations and the survival strategies that the inhabitants of Dominica put in place during Hurricane Maria (2017). For the past two years, I have been working with Professor François Gemenne, from the University of Liège, on a thesis project on a protocol for the free movement of people in the Horn of Africa (IGAD protocol), which protects the rights of people displaced by natural disasters. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete this project due to a lack of funding.
I am therefore mainly interested in the so-called ‘global south’ populations, as well as all other forms of adaptation to the effects of global warming (agricultural practices, construction, professional activities, etc.).
