My research lies at the crossroads of the sociology of public policy and the sociology of international relations. In the past, I have worked on the issues of debt and ‘good governance’ in developing countries. I am now working on the relationship between mining and the energy transition. I am studying both the way in which political elites are seizing on these new opportunities linked to the transition to extract more and generate new revenues from the mining industry in the South, and the way in which countries in the North are constructing new policies to ‘secure supplies’ of ‘metals for the energy transition’.
