“In my professional practice, I specialised in energy-efficient and passive-house design and sustainable building strategies, working notably with R2D2-architecture.be, participating in the design and the follow-up of several Brussels' Batex projects. In my current research, I seek to analyse and test the integration of energy design stakes into the early stages of the design process, particularly in the design-studio course context. This task includes the challenge of considering, beyond energy efficiency, energy sufficiency and sobriety approaches to the planning and design of architectural projects – for buildings that are future-proof and a coherent part of a desirable Socio-Ecological Transformations. In broader terms, the interaction between the built environment, society's energy consumption, and the transition process towards an ecology-based paradigm is significant and interest to me.”
