“Virginie Arantes has a doctorate in political science from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and is a postdoctoral researcher supported by the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique (F.R.S.-FNRS). Her research has focused on environmental governance in China, culminating in the publication of China's Green Consensus (2022) and several articles in leading academic journals.
She is currently studying the impact of green nationalism on national identity and governance dynamics in Southeast Asia. She is also interested in environmental policy, sustainability and the interactions between state actors, civil society and environmental movements. By combining political science, environmental studies and regional studies, her work aims to shed light on the global and local issues linked to conservation and sustainability, in a context marked by geopolitics and nationalism.”
