"I'm a historian with a background in environmental management and human geography. My work focuses on different aspects of the relationships between societies and their environments, covering a range of dimensions (forests, animals, pollution, cities). I am particularly interested in the relationship between societies and water (in all its forms). I use this expertise in environmental history to take a critical approach to narratives (which are often too conventional) about the past and ecological futures. In this, I am working in the field of environmental humanities and the new knowledge and epistemologies that they allow."
