"My research aims to gain a detailed understanding of the mobility and immobility infrastructures that make up public space and the ways in which they constitute sensitive environments that are constantly evolving. In my thesis, I looked at the evolution of imaginary notions of speed and slowness through an analysis of mobility infrastructures in Brussels. Following my thesis, I focused on the 'reinvention' of active mobility. My current research looks at functional, sensitive and socio-symbolic attachments and dependencies to different cycling equipment and infrastructures, and looks at what these aesthetic relationships have to do with the (de)construction of gender identities."
