Micro-systèmes
The Socio-ecological transformation through the lens of Micro-systems Axis brings together researchers who dedicate their studies to a specific and defined system, such as a city, a mangrove biotope, an agrarian system, or a catchment area.
Their research focuses on understanding the dynamics within these systems: the circulation of goods, services, and people, as well as resource management and the interaction between social processes and the environment.
These researchers' work intersects on two levels. Firstly, they recognise the necessity of adopting an interdisciplinary approach to fully grasp the multifaceted nature of their research subjects. Secondly, they aim to reflect on how their findings and insights can be applied beyond the boundaries of their specific objects of study. In other words, they seek to explore how the lessons learned from their research can be extended to other areas and how the dynamics observed within a particular system can be transposed to different scales.
The potential for scaling up and scaling out constitutes an integral part of these researchers' research directions.
Initial keywords: Socio-ecological systems, agrarian systems, the city, natural resource management, scale-up/out, social processes, circularity.
