My current research aims to contribute to discussions on ecological democracy (its philosophical foundations, historical roots, territorial scales, etc.) with a twofold objective: (1) to demonstrate that a theory of ecological autonomy, based on the interplay between productive self-management and democratic self-governance, can be traced within the history of ecological thought and movements; (2) to use this theoretical framework to analyse contemporary socio-ecological transformation projects, using case studies such as, for example, food security.
