The governance of the forest: avenues for a living policy

Campus Solbosch - IEE Salle Geremek

— 12:00 - 14:00

Forests are receiving increasing attention from public authorities and civil society. The functions, uses and perceptions of forests are changing. The law and forests are facing the same societal, environmental, economic and health challenges. This context calls into question the governance of the forest, defined by a multitude of players and involving several environmental public policies. Forests are no longer simply a matter of forestry policy; they are also the focus of policies on the living world and biodiversity. Traditional modes of governance are being revisited and overtaken by new initiatives that are helping to define a new policy for living things.

With the participation of Katia Blairon, Professor of Public Law, Université de Lorraine, IRENEE.

Moderator: Quentin Hiernaux, PHI

An event co-organised by REPI and iiTSE.

The seminar is also available online.
