Presentation of the book ‘Rendre le vivant politique’ (Making the living political)
Librairie Tropisme - Galerie des Princes, 1000 Bruxelles
- — 19:00 - 21:00Present in all environmental policies and yet distinct from them precisely because it is not what surrounds us but what exists for and by itself, living things do not allow themselves to be enclosed by humans - not so easily, we might say with nuance - and it is this act of resistance that makes them political.
In a world that has entered the Anthropocene era, where it would be easy to adopt human-centred environmental policies, the aim of this book is to examine the ontological significance of agentivity, hybridity and the places of the living in two ways: through theory and through concrete cases of the politics of the living.
The authors who will be presenting their work are Krystel Wanneau (Sciences Po Grenoble and REPI, ULB), Éric Fabri (CTP, ULB) and Virginie Arantes (EAST and REPI, ULB).
Two sessions are scheduled, on 25 February at the Librairie Tropisme from 7-9pm and on 27 February at the ‘midi d'Etopia’ at 5 Rue Van Orley, 1000 Brussels.
