As part of the iiTSE doctoral programme, the aim of this round table is to help doctoral students understand how the concept of systems – and by extension, systems thinking – can be applied in different disciplinary fields.

The following speakers will take part in the discussions:

  • Wouter Achten, bioengineer and expert in life cycle analysis;

  • Frank Pattyn, glaciologist and expert on the interactions between ice, climate and environmental change;

  • Charline Urbain, neuropsychologist and former Vice-Rector for Sustainable Development at the ULB.

The discussions between the guests and students will be moderated by Tom Bauler, ecological economist.
