Ecology and comic books: When comics explore the concept of ‘living with’

Campus Solbosch - Room AY2.112

— 12:00 - 14:00

Drawing on an analysis of several comic books in distinct styles, Véronique Bragard examines how ecology influences comic books and how the medium can engage with the pressing issues of our time. The lecture is an invitation to shift our perspective, to explore a poetic way of inhabiting the world by highlighting the graphic techniques specific to the comic book medium.

Véronique Bragard is a professor of comparative literature at the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters at the Catholic University of Louvain, where she teaches, amongst other subjects, utopian and dystopian fiction, comics studies and narratives of walking.

Free entrance.
