Coffee & ExperTease: the end of sustainable development?

Online

-

Over a cup of coffee, the ‘Coffee & ExperTease’ podcast invites two ULB experts to look at a topical issue and share their analysis. In this first episode, Louise Knops, a social science researcher at the Faculty of Science (IGEAT), and Marek Hudon, an economist at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, examine the question: ‘Is this the end of sustainable development?’.

For twenty minutes, the two researchers explore the limits and new perspectives of this concept in the light of their expertise. Louise Knops tackles the tensions between democracy and ecology, emphasising the role of emotions in these contradictions, while Marek Hudon presents emerging economic models, from the social economy to new forms of governance.
