The Paris Climate Agreement: review and outlook ten years on
Palais des Académies Écuries royales - Rue Ducale 1, 1000 Bruxelles
-The adoption of the Paris Agreement in December 2015 was an undeniable diplomatic success. Ten years later, what remains of the enthusiasm and ambition that prevailed at the time? Wars, trade tensions, the withdrawal of the United States... these are all factors that are now undermining international cooperation. At the same time, greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise and the devastating effects of climate change are multiplying around the world. Bringing together the perspectives of a political scientist, an economist, a lawyer and an engineer, this series will take stock of the first decade of the Agreement, exploring its promises and effects and questioning the prospects for its implementation.
